Whenever you buy things using the internet, you are actually shopping online. People using online shopping are progressing through the years. They find so many advantages using the internet to buy the things they need. On the other hand, there are also a number of complexities of online shopping. Here are some of the drawbacks of shopping by means of the internet.

One of its downside is safety of your credit cards. During online shopping, you typically use your credit card to pay for the items you want. However, there are online shops that are counterfeit and scam. Therefore, in able to avoid fake shops in the internet, you can search for reviews of comments made by buyers from different websites about that particular online shop. Or you can confirm with your bank if that shop is accredited by their bank.

Additional drawback of purchasing items in the internet is that you could not actually touch and get a grip of the item to inspect and assess for any error or damage. In addition, when you are searching for clothes, you cannot fit them to able to see it they are the right size for you. Contrasting to buying on department stores, you can fit different clothes until you find the clothes that suit you. Also, if online shops delivered the wrong item, you have to mail it back for substitute and you have to pay for delivery charges.

Online shopping has limitless choices about a particular product. And some people find it disadvantageous. This is because with so many choices, they get bewildered which website they want to purchase the product.

Also, online shopping does not provide you the chance to meet other people. With online shopping, you are limited to your computer, internet and online shops only. You do not have the opportunity to mingle with other people. There is also limited chance to ask retailers about the product you are buying. Unlike in department stores, you can actually ask questions about the product.

Also, the waiting period is somehow disappointing. The excitement to use the product you bought online might be diminishing while waiting for it to arrive. It usually takes three days or more, even a week, for you to hold and use the item.

Mishandling products throughout delivery is extremely high. Products that you purchased might be scratched or dented during delivery. Most online shops deliver the product for a minimum of three days or a week. And the most annoying part is when the purchased arrived and it is defective. Not similar to buying in department stores where you can actually test the product before paying for it. Also, you have to spend more money for delivery charges.

Finally, some people find it difficult how to operate the computer and how to use the internet, especially the old-aged people. This makes them buy their stuffs in traditional stores rather than buying online. Also, interruption in your internet connection will cause a problem. You might be charged with the similar item twice. This is because you may not be aware that you have already ordered and purchased the item and re-enter the same item due to internet disruption. So, it is advisable that you double-check the items you bought before signing out from online shopping.
