A Short Guide to Sodium2 - Project Velocity

By Andrew Butler

Sodium2- Project Velocity is the second game in the sodium series that are exclusive to PlayStation Home members. This high octane racing game is the follow up to Sodium One, the previous instalment. Project Velocity is rich with features like customisability, connection to the Sodium Hub and a gripping soundtrack composed by Cold Storage.

Players can choose to play from single-player and multi player mode and unlike Sodium One Salt Shooter, plays can play free of charge. Single players can practice by choosing the course on which they'd like to play and race against the 2 highest scorers among their friends. New tracks are also added from time to time to keep the game tougher. Credits are received after each race depending on how well they have played. Also on meeting some of the special objectives set by the game, further Sodium Credits can be earned.

In the single player version, replays can be watched from different camera angles so players can gauged how well they played. They can also can also make upgrade changes to their racer.

The multi-player version can be accessed from the multi-player access point or the main menu. On selecting the multiplayer option, players are taken to the session list, which displays a list of sessions. Players can choose a session from this or create a new session. You can decide who you need to include in this session, whether those only on your friends list or everyone.

When starting or joining an existing session, players will be brought to the pre-race lobby, where the track on which to race voted on. If a player is up for it, he should change his status to 'Ready'. Once all of the players are ready, willing and able, they are immediately transported to the racing track and the race will then commence.

In Sodium2- Project Velocity, the garage is the place where players can upgrade their velocity racer and add new parts. To be well placed to access the components, players must earn XP, which should help them unlock new upgrades. Then there are more upgrades that will need to be acquired through the Commerce Point in the garage.
